Nationstar Mortgage, also known as Mr. Cooper, has agreed to a $5.8 million settlement to address allegations of wrongful practices in its mortgage servicing operations. The lawsuit claims that Nationstar violated laws protecting borrowers, resulting in financial harm, property lockouts, and even foreclosures.
This settlement follows allegations by state attorneys general and mortgage regulators across all 50 states, who claimed that Nationstar:
