IGK Dry Shampoo Benzene Settlement: $850K

Consumers who purchased IGK Direct Flight, IGK Jet Lag, or IGK First Class dry shampoo products before April 23, 2024, are eligible to receive settlement benefits.

While proof of purchase is not required, providing it (such as receipts or order confirmations) can increase the potential settlement amount.

Luxury Brand Partners has agreed to pay $850,000 to settle claims that its IGK dry shampoo products were contaminated with benzene, a known carcinogen. This settlement is available to consumers who purchased IGK Direct Flight, IGK Jet Lag, or IGK First Class dry shampoo products before April 23, 2024.

The class action lawsuit against Luxury Brand Partners alleged that their IGK dry shampoo products contained unsafe levels of benzene, exposing consumers to potential health risks. Many consumers were reportedly unaware of this contamination and continued using the products, unknowingly putting their health at risk.

Although Luxury Brand Partners has denied any wrongdoing, they have agreed to the $850,000 settlement to resolve the claims and compensate affected consumers. The settlement is intended to provide relief to those who purchased and used the contaminated dry shampoo products.

Under the terms of the settlement, consumers are eligible to receive a cash payment based on the number of products purchased. Without proof of purchase, class members can receive $4 per product, up to a maximum of $20 for five products. Those who provide proof of purchase can claim an unlimited number of products and receive full refunds. Payments may be adjusted on a pro rata basis depending on the total number of claims submitted.

To benefit from this settlement, eligible class members must file a valid claim form by November 19, 2024.
