Volkswagen Atlas Door Wiring Harness Settlement

Current and former owners and lessees of:

• Certain 2019–2023 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles with eligible Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs).
• Class members can check their VIN on the settlement website to confirm eligibility.

Required documentation includes:

• Repair invoices
• Proof of payment
• Proof of ownership or lease (if different from the class member who received the notice)

Volkswagen Group of America has agreed to a class action settlement to address allegations that certain 2019–2023 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles are equipped with defective front door wiring harnesses. Plaintiffs claim that these wiring harnesses can fail due to a design defect that causes them to rub against a metal edge, leading to electrical issues.

Volkswagen denies the allegations of wrongdoing but agreed to resolve the lawsuit through this settlement.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive the following benefits:

1. Reimbursement for Past Repairs:

   • Class members who paid out of pocket for repairs performed before Oct. 10, 2024, can receive 100% reimbursement.
   • Repairs must relate to the front door wiring harness defect.

2. Requirements for Reimbursement:

   • For repairs between Dec. 22, 2022, and Oct. 10, 2024, class members may need to submit a signed declaration stating they presented their vehicle to a Volkswagen dealer but the dealer was unable to perform the repair due to part unavailability.
   • Repairs performed during the vehicle’s original new vehicle limited warranty period by non-Volkswagen dealers must be supported by records showing a prior attempt to have the repair performed by an authorized dealer. If these records are unavailable, a signed declaration confirming a good-faith effort to obtain them is required.

3. Extended Warranty:

   • Effective Oct. 10, 2024, Volkswagen will extend the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for settlement class vehicles to cover repair or replacement of a failed front door wiring harness. This coverage will last for five years or 60,000 miles from the date of the recall repair performed by an authorized Volkswagen dealer.

To receive settlement benefits, eligible class members must submit a valid claim form and supporting documentation by Dec. 24, 2024.
