Husqvarna Grass Trimmer Class Action Settlement

Consumers who purchased a Husqvarna gas-powered grass string trimmer with the following model numbers on or before Nov. 13, 2023:

• 130C (SKU: 970514301, 970514302, 970514303, 970694601, 970694701)
• 130L (SKU: 970514401, 970514402, 970514403, 970694801, 970694901)
• 330LK (SKU: 970514501, 970514502, 970514503, 970514504, 970545001)

Class members must provide proof of a free repair or replacement completed by a Husqvarna authorized dealer in order to receive settlement benefits.

Husqvarna has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that certain gas-powered grass trimmers were sold with a defect that posed a fire risk.

The lawsuit claims that the defect, found in the ignition module of certain trimmers, could result in electrical arcing or sparks when the unit is in use. If gas was nearby, this could create a fire hazard. The plaintiff argues that Husqvarna failed to disclose this risk to consumers, despite allegedly being aware of the potential issue.

Husqvarna, which manufactures outdoor power equipment and lawn care products, denies all wrongdoing but agreed to a settlement to avoid further litigation.

What Class Members Can Receive

Consumers who bring eligible trimmers to a Husqvarna authorized dealer for a free repair or ignition module replacement within 90 days of Oct. 3, 2025, can receive a $45 voucher.

In addition to the voucher, class members are eligible for:

• A one-year extension to the product’s limited warranty if the repair is completed within one year of Oct. 3, 2025.
• A three-year extension on parts and labor for the ignition module.

To qualify for these benefits, class members must participate in the Consumer Product Safety Commission recall by completing the authorized repair and then submitting a claim form by Jan. 2, 2026.
