Sutter Health Privacy Settlement: $21.5M

California residents who logged into their own Sutter Health MyHealthOnline portal account for purposes relating to their own healthcare between June 10, 2015, and March 20, 2020.

Sutter Health has agreed to a $21.5 million class action lawsuit settlement over allegations that it used third-party tracking tools to share patient information without consent.

The lawsuit claims that Sutter Health embedded tools on its website that transmitted user data to third parties like Google and Facebook. This activity allegedly violated several California privacy laws by exposing sensitive personal information accessed through the MyHealthOnline patient portal.

Although Sutter Health denies any wrongdoing, it has agreed to settle the claims to avoid further litigation.

Under the terms of the settlement, each class member will receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. While final payments depend on the number of valid claims submitted, each individual is estimated to receive up to $90.

To receive a payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by April 28, 2026. The deadline to exclude yourself or object to the settlement is January 23, 2026, and the final approval hearing is scheduled for February 27, 2026.
