Octapharma Plasma has agreed to pay $2.55 million to settle claims that it failed to safeguard donor information during a data breach in April 2024.

Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit allege that the company’s lack of adequate cybersecurity measures led to the breach, which exposed:

• Names

• Birth dates

• Social Security numbers

• Health and donor eligibility information

Octapharma Plasma, a national plasma donation center, has not admitted wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve the claims.

What Class Members Can Receive

• Up to $5,000 for documented losses such as fraud-related charges or identity theft

• Flat-rate payment of $100 for those without documented losses

• Three years of free credit monitoring for all class members

• California residents may receive an additional $50 statutory payment
