Telehealth company Lemonaid Health has agreed to pay $3.25 million to settle accusations that it secretly shared sensitive patient information with tech giants like Facebook and Google. Anyone who visited the company's website during a six-year window may qualify for a piece of the settlement fund.
Lemonaid Health offers online medical consultations and prescription services, allowing patients to receive care for conditions ranging from cold sores and acne to anxiety and erectile dysfunction without visiting a doctor's office in person.
Given the personal nature of these services, users reasonably expected their health information would remain private.
According to the lawsuit, that expectation was violated. Plaintiffs alleged Lemonaid embedded tracking pixels on its website that captured individually identifiable health information and transmitted it to third-party companies without users' knowledge or consent.
These pixels—small pieces of code commonly used for advertising purposes—allegedly sent data about what pages users visited and what services they sought to outside platforms.
For a telehealth provider, this type of data sharing raises particular concerns. Browsing a page about mental health treatment or sexual dysfunction reveals sensitive details about someone's medical situation. Sharing that information with advertising networks, plaintiffs argued, crossed a serious line.
Lemonaid Health has denied any wrongdoing and hasn't admitted that it improperly disclosed user information. Both parties agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation.
After attorneys' fees, administrative costs and service awards are deducted from the $3.25 million fund, the remaining balance will be split equally among everyone who submits a valid claim. The more people who file, the smaller each individual payment will be.
Court filings indicate that up to $1,083,333 may go toward attorneys' fees, with class representatives potentially receiving up to $55,000 total in service awards. Administrative costs haven't been finalized. Whatever remains after these deductions gets distributed to claimants.
Qualifying for this settlement is straightforward: if you visited lemonaidhealth.com even once during the eligibility period, you're likely part of the class. You don't need to have created an account or made a purchase—simply browsing the website is enough.
Those who file online will receive electronic payments unless they request a check. Paper filers will receive their payments by mail.
The deadline to submit a claim is Feb. 23, 2026. Class members who wish to opt out or object must do so by Jan. 5, 2026. A final approval hearing is scheduled for Jan. 20, 2026, with payments distributed after the court grants final approval and resolves any appeals.
