Injured Workers Pharmacy (IWP) has agreed to a $1.075 million settlement to resolve claims that it failed to protect sensitive customer information from a January 2021 data breach. The breach reportedly allowed unauthorized access to certain email accounts, potentially exposing customers’ personal data, such as Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
Plaintiffs allege that the data breach could have been prevented with reasonable cybersecurity measures. IWP denies wrongdoing but has agreed to the settlement to resolve these claims.
