Individuals in the United States whose contact information or identifying information, including date of birth or Social Security number, was compromised in the January 2021 data breach, disclosed by Injured Workers Pharmacy in February 2022.

Injured Workers Pharmacy (IWP) has agreed to a $1.075 million settlement to resolve claims that it failed to protect sensitive customer information from a January 2021 data breach. The breach reportedly allowed unauthorized access to certain email accounts, potentially exposing customers’ personal data, such as Social Security numbers and dates of birth.

Plaintiffs allege that the data breach could have been prevented with reasonable cybersecurity measures. IWP denies wrongdoing but has agreed to the settlement to resolve these claims.

Eligible class members can receive the following benefits:

1. Reimbursement for Economic Losses:

   • Up to $5,000 for unreimbursed losses related to identity theft, fraud, or credit expenses.

2. Pro Rata Cash Payment:

   • Estimated to exceed $50 per valid claimant, though the amount will depend on the number of claims submitted and available funds.

3. Free Credit Monitoring:

   • Two years of free credit monitoring to protect against identity theft.

Submit a valid claim form by Dec. 9, 2024, with required documentation for reimbursement or opt for the pro rata cash payment and credit monitoring services.
