Green Valley Pecan Co. Data Breach Settlement

Individuals who were notified by Green Valley that their personal information may have been compromised in the May 2022 data breach.

Required for reimbursement claims and includes documentation such as bank statements, phone bills, credit reports, invoices, and receipts related to data breach expenses.

Green Valley Pecan Company has agreed to a settlement following allegations that it failed to adequately protect customer data during a May 2022 cyberattack. Plaintiffs claim that Green Valley did not implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to prevent or mitigate the data breach, which allegedly exposed sensitive personal information. While Green Valley denies any wrongdoing, it has agreed to resolve the claims.

Under the settlement, class members can choose between the following benefits:

1. Reimbursement for Ordinary Losses: Up to $400 for documented expenses, including:

   • Bank fees and phone charges
   • Travel expenses
   • Credit-related costs
   • Up to three hours of lost time at $15 per hour

2. Reimbursement for Extraordinary Losses: Up to $4,000 for significant losses related to fraud or identity theft directly linked to the data breach.

3. Credit Monitoring: All class members are eligible for two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services, including $1 million in identity theft insurance.

Eligible claimants must provide documentation of expenses, such as bank statements, phone bills, postage receipts, gas receipts, or invoices. Proactive measures are included in the settlement to offer ongoing identity protection.

Class members who meet the eligibility criteria can submit a claim to receive reimbursement payments or credit monitoring services.
