Crossbreed Holsters Data Breach Settlement: $195K

U.S. residents who received written notification from Crossbreed Holsters stating their personal information may have been impacted by a data breach on or around Dec. 5, 2022.

Claimants must provide documentation of losses, such as receipts, bank statements, or other supporting evidence, to claim reimbursement for ordinary or extraordinary losses.

Crossbreed Holsters has agreed to a $195,000 class action settlement to resolve claims stemming from a data breach that occurred in December 2022. Plaintiffs in the case allege that Crossbreed failed to adequately safeguard personal information, leading to the exposure of sensitive data during the breach.

Although Crossbreed denies any wrongdoing, it agreed to settle the claims to avoid further litigation.

Eligible class members may receive compensation in the following forms:

1. Ordinary Loss Reimbursement:

   • Up to $500 for documented expenses incurred due to the breach, including:
     • Bank fees
     • Long-distance phone charges
     • Credit report fees
     • Identity theft protection services purchased between Dec. 5, 2022, and Jan. 9, 2025

2. Lost Time Reimbursement:

   • Up to $105 for three hours of lost time responding to the breach (calculated at $35/hour).

3. Extraordinary Loss Reimbursement:

   • Up to $2,500 for documented, unreimbursed monetary losses directly caused by the data breach.

4. Alternative Cash Payment:

   • If no expenses are claimed, class members may elect to receive an alternative cash payment. The amount will depend on the remaining settlement funds after expenses.

5. Remedial Relief:

   • Crossbreed has implemented enhanced security measures to protect against future breaches.

Class members must submit valid claim forms with supporting documentation to receive payment for losses. Alternatively, they may select the cash payment option if no documentation is available.
