About This Settlement

Plaintiffs alleged that Comcast failed to adequately protect consumer information from a data breach that allegedly occurred between October 16 and 19, 2023, and was publicly disclosed in December 2023. The lawsuit claimed Comcast could have prevented the breach through reasonable cybersecurity measures. Comcast has not admitted any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle the claims for $117.5 million to resolve the litigation (Hasson v. Comcast Cable Communications LLC, Case No. 2:23-cv-05039-JMY).

Who Qualifies

• You may be eligible to participate in this settlement if you meet the following criteria:
• You received a data breach notification from Comcast informing you that your personal information may have been compromised
• Your information was allegedly affected by the data breach that occurred between October 16 and 19, 2023
• The breach was publicly disclosed by Comcast in December 2023
• This settlement is nationwide in scope
• Documentation of out-of-pocket losses (such as credit card statements, bank statements, invoices, telephone records, or receipts) may be required if you are claiming documented losses

What You May Receive

If you are determined to be an eligible class member, you may receive one of the following forms of compensation:

• Documented Losses: You may receive up to $10,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses. This may include up to 5 hours of lost time valued at $30 per hour. Supporting documentation such as credit card statements, bank statements, invoices, telephone records, or receipts may be required.
• Alternative Cash Payment: If you do not have documented losses, you may alternatively receive an estimated pro rata cash payment of up to $50.
