About This Settlement

A class action lawsuit alleged that State Farm charged New Mexico policyholders illegal offsets when paying underinsured motorist claims and allegedly failed to explain its offset procedures to policyholders, resulting in reduced underinsured motorist payments. State Farm has not admitted any wrongdoing but has agreed to a $20.93 million settlement to resolve these allegations. Who Qualifies

• You may be eligible to participate in this settlement if you meet all of the following criteria:
• You were insured under a New Mexico insurance policy issued by State Farm
• Your policy included uninsured and/or underinsured motorist (U Coverage) benefits
• Your coverage was active at any point between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2021
• You are able to provide a valid State Farm policy number as proof of purchase

What You May Receive

Eligible class members may receive an estimated payout based on the premiums they paid for U Coverage during the qualifying period. Specifically, you may receive up to 21% of premiums paid if you purchased minimum limits U Coverage, or up to 13% of premiums paid if you purchased non-minimum limits U Coverage, between 2010 and 2021. Please note that individual payments may be reduced on a pro rata basis if a large number of claims are filed. Final payout amounts are not guaranteed and will vary based on individual circumstances and overall claims volume.

How to File a Claim

1. Visit the official settlement website at SchwartzUIMClassSettlement.com to access the claim form.
2. Locate your State Farm policy number, as proof of purchase is required to complete your claim.
3. Complete the claim form in full, providing your State Farm policy number and any other requested information.
4. Submit your completed claim form by the deadline of July 2, 2026. Late submissions may not be accepted.
