Sierra-at-Tahoe agreed to resolve a class action lawsuit that claimed it failed to tell customers about parking restrictions that made pre-purchased lift tickets unusable. The issue impacted online ticket buyers on several specific dates during the 2020–2021 ski season.
According to the lawsuit, Sierra-at-Tahoe sold single-day lift tickets for specified dates without disclosing that parking limitations could prevent ticket use. As a result, some skiers were turned away despite holding valid tickets.
While Sierra-at-Tahoe denies any wrongdoing, the resort has agreed to provide refunds or vouchers as part of the settlement.
Eligible class members can choose between:
A full refund equal to the price paid for each unused single-day lift ticket
A lift ticket voucher valid for three ski seasons, estimated at $83 to $140 in value
Vouchers can be used for future ski days at Sierra-at-Tahoe.
