Haleon, the maker of Robitussin cough and cold products, has agreed to pay $4.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit that claims it falsely advertised certain Robitussin products as "non-drowsy" despite containing dextromethorphan, an ingredient that can cause drowsiness.
The lawsuit alleges that Haleon misled consumers by labeling its products as “non-drowsy” while scientific research and FDA warnings have noted that dextromethorphan can cause drowsiness in some individuals. Plaintiffs argue they would not have purchased these products—or would have paid less—had they known the truth about the effects of the medication.
Robitussin is a popular cough and cold medicine brand offering products for both adults and children.
While denying any wrongdoing, Haleon has agreed to settle the case to resolve the claims and provide compensation to affected consumers.
If you purchased a Robitussin product labeled "non-drowsy" and believe you were misled, check your eligibility and submit your claim before the deadline to receive a cash payment.
