Lilly Lashes has agreed to a $500,000 class action settlement to resolve allegations it falsely advertised its mink eyelashes as “cruelty-free.” The lawsuit claimed that consumers were misled into believing the lashes were free from animal exploitation, when in fact they were made from real mink fur. Plaintiffs argued that this marketing violated California consumer protection laws and influenced their purchasing decisions.
The brand, founded by influencer Lilly Ghalichi, has become popular for its bold lash styles sold online and through major beauty retailers. While Lilly Lashes denies any wrongdoing, it agreed to settle the case to avoid prolonged litigation.
Under the Terms of the Settlement
Class members who purchased qualifying products can receive:
The total amount awarded may be adjusted depending on the number of valid claims submitted. If fewer than $500,000 in claims are filed, individual payments may increase. Conversely, high claim volume could result in pro rata reductions.
The settlement reinforces growing consumer expectations around product transparency, especially in the beauty industry, where cruelty-free labeling plays a key role in buyer trust.
