Beyond Meat has agreed to a $7.5 million settlement to address claims that it overstated protein content and quality of ingredients in certain plant-based products.
The class action lawsuit alleges that Beyond Meat misrepresented nutritional content, leading consumers to believe they were purchasing higher-quality products than what was allegedly delivered. Plaintiffs argue that these claims influenced purchasing decisions, potentially resulting in higher costs for consumers.
Covered Beyond Meat products include:
As part of the settlement, eligible class members can receive $2 per product purchased during the class period. Claimants without proof of purchase can claim up to $10 for five items, while those with proof of purchase can claim unlimited reimbursements (subject to pro rata adjustments based on fund availability).
Class members may choose to receive their payments via check, Venmo, PayPal, ACH, or Zelle.
