About This Settlement

A class action lawsuit alleged that Zale Delaware Inc. and Sterling Jewelers Inc. violated Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunities Act by allegedly failing to include wage scales, salary ranges, and general descriptions of benefits in their job postings. Job applicants claimed that these alleged omissions prevented them from making informed decisions about whether to apply for positions with the companies. Without admitting any wrongdoing, Zale Delaware and Sterling Jewelers have agreed to a $1,610,000 settlement to resolve these allegations.

• You applied for a job with Zale Delaware Inc. and/or Sterling Jewelers Inc. in the state of Washington
• Your application was submitted between January 1, 2023, and July 26, 2025
• The job posting you applied to either failed to disclose pay or benefits information, OR listed a wage scale or salary range below Washington's applicable annual minimum wage
• Brands covered include Zales, Jared, and Kay Jewelers, among others operating under Zale Delaware or Sterling Jewelers
• Note: This settlement applies only to applicants in Washington state — applicants in other states are not covered

What You May Receive

Eligible class members may receive an estimated cash payment depending on which category of job posting they applied to. If you applied for a job posting that did not disclose any wage or salary information, you may receive up to $2,500. If you applied for a job posting that disclosed a wage scale or salary range below Washington's applicable annual minimum wage, you may receive up to $2,000. Actual payment amounts will vary based on the total number of valid claims submitted and the settlement funds available. No payout amount is guaranteed.
