This settlement applies to consumers in the United States who purchased certain ProForm and NordicTrack workout equipment models before January 23, 2023. A comprehensive list of qualifying equipment models is available on the settlement website.

To file a claim for benefits under the settlement, you will need to submit proof of purchase documentation that includes the following information:

A class action lawsuit filed against iFit, the company that owns fitness equipment brands NordicTrack and ProForm, has been settled for an undisclosed amount.

The lawsuit centered on allegations that iFit sold certain ProForm and NordicTrack exercise machines with touchscreen consoles prone to malfunction. These consoles, advertised as a key feature for accessing live workout streaming, interactive programs, and workout tracking, allegedly became unusable after mandatory software updates pushed by iFit.

The lawsuit alleged the following:

• Defective Touchscreen Consoles: Plaintiffs claimed that the touchscreen consoles on certain ProForm and NordicTrack equipment models were inherently defective. This defectiveness could have stemmed from faulty hardware components or software compatibility issues.
  
  
• Mandatory Software Updates Caused Malfunctions: The lawsuit further alleged that mandatory software updates pushed by iFit exacerbated the console problems. These updates may have been incompatible with the console hardware or introduced bugs that rendered the touchscreens unresponsive or inoperable.
  
  
• Loss of Functionality and Value: Due to the malfunctioning touchscreen consoles, users reportedly lost access to the advertised features and functionalities, significantly diminishing the value and usability of their exercise equipment.
  
  
• Failure to Warn or Address Issues: The lawsuit claimed that iFit failed to adequately warn consumers about potential console issues or offer timely and effective solutions to address malfunctions caused by software updates.

iFit maintains their position that they did nothing wrong. However, they agreed to the settlement to avoid the costs and uncertainties of further litigation. The settlement aims to compensate consumers who purchased affected equipment models and experienced problems with the touchscreen consoles.

Under the terms of the settlement, eligible consumers can receive:

• Free Repairs: If you still possess an unrepaired device that malfunctioned after November 1, 2021, you can receive a free repair, including a replacement console or tablet and installation.
  
  
• Reimbursement for Repairs: If you paid iFit to fix your machine before May 6, 2024, you may be eligible for reimbursement of the documented repair costs, including parts, labor, and diagnosis fees.
  
  
• Discount on New Equipment: If you contacted iFit about the console defect before May 6, 2024, but weren't offered a free repair and subsequently discarded your machine, you can receive a 20% off coupon for up to $600 on new iFit workout equipment or services.
  
  
• Discounted Subscription Extension: If you purchased an iFit subscription before May 6, 2024, and lost access due to console problems, you can receive a 20% discount on a 12-month subscription extension. This applies if you contacted iFit for repairs but weren't offered a free fix within a month of your request.
