General Motors (GM) and LG Chem have agreed to a $150 million class action settlement to resolve allegations of defective battery packs in 2017–2022 Chevrolet Bolt EVs. The lawsuit claims these batteries were prone to defects that could lead to fires, limiting vehicle usability and safety. Plaintiffs allege fraudulent omission, breach of warranty, and violations of consumer protection laws.
While GM and LG deny the allegations, they have agreed to settle to avoid further litigation.
