Who Qualifies

• You may be eligible for this settlement if you meet ALL of the following criteria:
• You are a U.S. resident
• TransUnion sold a consumer report about you to a third party between Jan. 6, 2020, and Jan. 31, 2023
• That report included a bankruptcy remark on a tradeline but contained no corresponding bankruptcy record in the public record section of the same report
• You fall into one of the two eligible groups:
• • No Bankruptcy Group: You have no government-held public record of a bankruptcy filing within the 10 years prior to the date of the report
• • Aged Bankruptcy Group: Your public record search only identified bankruptcies filed more than 10 years before the date of the TransUnion credit report

What You May Receive

Eligible class members may receive a cash payment estimated between $100 and approximately $1,000, depending on group membership and whether a claim form is submitted:

• No Bankruptcy Group: You may automatically receive a $100 payment without submitting a claim form. However, if you submit a valid claim form by the deadline, you may be eligible to receive up to approximately $1,000.
• Aged Bankruptcy Group: You may receive approximately $350 upon submitting a valid claim form by the deadline. No automatic payment is issued for this group.

How to File a Claim

1. Visit the settlement website: Go to BrooksBankruptcyClassAction.com to access official claim information and determine which eligibility group may apply to you.
2. Review your eligibility: Confirm that a TransUnion consumer report containing an alleged inaccurate bankruptcy remark was sold about you between Jan. 6, 2020, and Jan. 31, 2023, and that you meet the criteria for either the No Bankruptcy Group or the Aged Bankruptcy Group.
3. Complete the claim form: Fill out the valid claim form available on the settlement website. Note that No Bankruptcy Group members who do not submit a claim form will still receive an automatic $100 payment, but must submit a form to potentially receive the higher estimated payment of approximately $1,000.
4. Provide any required documentation: Follow the instructions on the claim form regarding any supporting information or documentation that may be needed to verify your eligibility.
5. Submit your claim by the deadline: Your completed claim form must be submitted no later than October 30, 2026. Late submissions may not be accepted. If you wish to exclude yourself from or object to the settlement, those actions must also be completed by October 30, 2026.
