Amazon has agreed to a $309.5 million class action settlement resolving allegations that it failed to properly refund consumers for returned products purchased on Amazon.com between September 5, 2017, and February 12, 2026.

Consumers who initiated a return or refund request for a physical product purchased and received in the U.S. through Amazon.com between Sept. 5, 2017, and Feb. 12, 2026, and who did not receive a refund, received an untimely or incorrect refund, or were later incorrectly charged for a returned product qualify.
None required for Subclass A members who will be paid automatically; Subclass B members must submit a claim form with supporting documentation showing they are more likely than not entitled to a payment.

Plaintiffs alleged that Amazon failed to properly refund consumers for physical products returned after being purchased through Amazon.com, with certain return policies and practices allegedly violating Washington's consumer protection and other laws. Payout amounts vary depending on which subclass you belong to:
• Subclass A members may automatically receive payments estimated to include the unpaid transaction amount(s) plus a proportional amount based on potential prejudgment interest. No claim form is required.
• Subclass B members who submit a valid claim form may receive a proportional share of approximately 7.3% of the net settlement fund, based on unpaid transaction amounts and potential prejudgment interest.
• Class members who qualify for both subclasses may receive payments from both funds, which may be combined into a single payment.
Actual payment amounts will vary based on the total number of valid claims submitted, deductions for administrative expenses, attorneys' fees, costs, and service awards. No specific per-claimant payout amount is guaranteed.
