Google Play Store Class Action Settlement: $630M

Consumers in the U.S., District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands who made a qualifying purchase through the Google Play Store or Google Play Billing between August 16, 2016, and September 30, 2023.

Not required. Eligible consumers will automatically receive a payment unless they exclude themselves.

Google has agreed to a $630 million class action lawsuit settlement over claims it violated antitrust laws by monopolizing Android app distribution and in-app billing through its Google Play Store.

The lawsuit, brought by attorneys general from all 50 states, alleges that Google used its market power to stifle competition and force developers and consumers into using its billing platform, leading to inflated prices for apps and in-app purchases.

Although Google denies any wrongdoing, it agreed to the settlement to resolve the litigation and avoid further legal costs.

Under the settlement terms, eligible consumers will automatically receive a payment based on their total app and in-app purchase spending during the class period. Each class member is guaranteed at least $2, but payments may be higher depending on the number of purchases and the total number of valid claims filed.

No claim form is required. However, consumers may visit the official settlement website to update their contact details or sign up for claim status updates.

The deadline to request exclusion or object to the settlement is February 19, 2026. The final approval hearing is scheduled for April 30, 2026.
