Who's eligible?

The settlement benefits two groups of people who scanned their fingerprints in Illinois using CenterEdge systems:

Group 1: Individuals who scanned fingerprints into any CenterEdge system in Illinois between April 29, 2014, and March 20, 2024.
Group 2: Individuals who scanned fingerprints into CenterEdge systems at Sky Zone Trampoline Park locations in Elmhurst, Aurora, or Joliet, Illinois between April 29, 2014, and March 20, 2024.

CenterEdge, a point-of-sale system provider often used by amusement parks and attractions, has agreed to a $1.175 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging violations of Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).

The lawsuit claimed CenterEdge violated BIPA by:

Failing to obtain prior written consent before collecting fingerprint scans.
Not providing required disclosures about the collection, use, storage, and disposal of fingerprint data.

While CenterEdge denies wrongdoing, they agreed to the settlement to resolve the lawsuit. Class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund, estimated to be between $230 and $330 per person.

Group 1: You don't need to take any action. Settlement payments will be distributed automatically.
Group 2: You must submit a valid claim form by June 24, 2024, to receive a payment.
