This settlement benefits people who purchased specific Lenovo laptops within certain date ranges and experienced display issues during regular use, including:
- Flickering screens
- Freezing screens
- Blackouts
- Non-physical display breakage (gray screen with vertical lines)
The qualifying Lenovo laptops are:
- Yoga 730 (machine types 81CT, 81CU, or 81JS) purchased in the US from January 26, 2018, to April 10, 2023 (excluding models manufactured after June 19, 2019)
- Flex 5 (machine type 81CA) purchased in the US from August 14, 2017, to April 10, 2023 (excluding models manufactured after June 19, 2019)
- Flex 5 (machine types 80XB, 80XA, or 81C9) purchased in the US from March 9, 2017, to April 10, 2023
Proof of Purchase
To receive a benefit from the settlement, you will need to submit proof of purchase (receipt, invoice, etc.) showing you bought one of the qualifying laptops during the relevant timeframe. Additionally, you'll need your laptop's serial number and a statement describing the display defect you experienced.
If You Already Repaired the Display:
If you previously paid to repair the qualifying laptop's display defect, you may be eligible for reimbursement of up to $100. You will need to submit a claim form along with proof of purchase, serial number, a statement about the display issue, and evidence of the repair costs.

Lenovo has agreed to a $100 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging they misled consumers about display defects in certain Yoga and Flex model laptops.
This settlement benefits people who purchased specific Lenovo laptops within certain date ranges and experienced display issues during regular use, including:
- Flickering screens
- Freezing screens
- Blackouts
- Non-physical display breakage (gray screen with vertical lines)
The qualifying Lenovo laptops are:
- Yoga 730 (machine types 81CT, 81CU, or 81JS) purchased in the US from January 26, 2018, to April 10, 2023 (excluding models manufactured after June 19, 2019)

Under the settlement, eligible class members can choose between:
- Free Repair: Lenovo will fix the defective display on your qualifying laptop.
- One-Time Payment: You can receive a one-time payment of $100.
This settlement only applies to laptops purchased for personal use, not resale. Lenovo denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to the settlement to resolve the lawsuit.
